Direct Support

The PVPT Center in the field of Direct support/Crisis Shelter for victims of trafficking since January 2000 till December 2007 continually have been providing safe, warm and comfortable shelter, as well as healthy and productive living environment for 552 international and local victims of trafficking who are referred and accepted into the Crises Shelter before their repatriation in home countries.

Within the Crises Shelter, PVPT Center has provided following services for its accommodated beneficiaries:

  • Medical care
  • Legal Counselling
  • Psychosocial support
  • The awareness raising and empowerment sessions
  • Clothes and fresh food
  • Admission Packages and Dignified Return Packages

Prevention and Education

In the field ofprevention and education, since September 2002, PVPT has conducted awareness rising training on trafficking with human beings in different regions of Kosovo. PVPT’s prevention activity goal is to increase awareness about trafficking among youngsters of ages 12 -18, empower those at risk of becoming trafficked and make informed decisions on protecting their own rights as well as promoting cooperation between target groups and law enforcement agencies

Besides children as targets in the prevention activities, PVPT has organized trainings and workshops also with students of three faculties of the University of Prishtina, teachers, journalists, social workers, police officer and other governmental and non-governmental representatives. In addition, in 2009, PVPT has also targeted women of rural areas, mothers of girls dropping off school and potential victims of trafficking of different ethnicities: Albanians, Bosnians, RAE community.

Until today, PVPT center has succeeded in organizing training sessions for more than 15000 participants, in the municipalities of Prishtina, Prizren, Gjilan, Ferizaj, Kastriot, Peja and Mitrovica.

In the prevention activities, PVPT Center has designed and distributed very informative and awareness raising material in different forms, such as: fliers, badges, notebooks, pencils, t-shirts, bags, aprons, illustrative fliers, key rings and posters which were additional part of campaigns specially organized for this purpose. The entire material contained messages related to fight against trafficking in human beings .

Rehabilitation & Reintegration

As of 2005, PVPT signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (MLSW), and in close cooperation with this Ministry, implemented a project on “Supporting Long-Term reintegration of Children victims of trafficking and children withdrawn from Worst Forms of Child Labor (WFCL)”, contributing to the rehabilitation and long term reintegration of 135 children victims of trafficking and other WFCL in three municipalities of Kosovo by pilot testing a model of economic and social support services for future replication.

As replication of first project, during 2007-2008, the project extended implementation activities on 6 municipalities supporting 245 children, victims of WFCL in streets and agriculture and 410 children in danger to get involved in WFCL in streets and agriculture, with the psycho-social reintegration program

In July 2008, the PVPT Center has established the Rehabilitation Centre, the first daily open Center for Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Victims and potential Victims of Trafficking in Kosova. The purpose of Rehabilitation Center is to provide long-term rehabilitation and reintegration of VoTs (local and foreign, minor and adults) by providing temporary safe accommodation, education, basic vocational skills, awareness ra ising, human rights and empowering sessions as well as increase knowledge of victims about legal proceedings in Kosovo and ways to cooperate with law enforcements through provision of legal aid and counselling.

Since September 2008 till now, in the PVPT Rehabilitation Center were assisted 321 victims and potential victims of trafficking.

  • ‘Improving provision of services and awareness to combat Trafficking in Persons in the Balkans - Albania, Macedonia, Montenegro and Kosovo ‘supported by Terre des Hommes in Kosovo (PVPT awarded as sub-receipt) for the period of July 01, 2018 – July 31, 2020;
  • "Support for an Effective Fight against Trafficking in Human Beings" in partnership with KMOP and EPLO, and supported by the European Commission for the period of January 2017 - January 2020.
